Born in Chennai and having completed her B.com (Hons) from Lady Shri Ram college, Delhi, Shoba ran a plastics manufacturing unit in Okhla, Delhi for 22 years. But she wanted to give vent to her creative side and decided to express it through photography. She began her photography career in 2010 . After doing a short course at Apex (Academy for Photographic Excellence) in Vasant Vihar. She also attended photography workshops internationally.
She specializes in Street photography, portrait, travel, and fine art photography. She has had many exhibitions in Delhi, Mumbai and New York at renowned galleries. She also took part at the India Art Fair 2017 and 2018, which is the largest international Art Fair in Asia. Her latest achievement is to be awarded the BR Ambedkar Award for her contribution to the Arts and Photography, August this year.
